Casterbridge Tours Have Quality Meals, Featuring Native Cuisine

Dining out and sampling local specialties should be one of the cultural highlights of any tour abroad and so we at Casterbridge Tours always try to give our groups a taste of local cuisine.

Breakfast and Dinner on Your Group Tour

Your breakfasts will be continental in style, but will often comprise a buffet laid out in the particular manner of the region.

Dinners will be in your hotel when you are in rural areas, and will usually feature local dishes on the menu. When you are in a major city, they will be in local restaurants specifically selected for their native cuisine and some variety of experience, whenever possible.

The restaurants selected by Casterbridge Tours will serve authentic and traditional meals representing each country or region’s typical menu. Sometimes, there will be a set menu, while at other times you will be able to select from a range of dishes. Indeed, if you have a particular restaurant in mind, after time of booking we will be pleased to ask our Tour Operations office to look into its use on your tour.

What About Lunch?

After morning sightseeing, we generally combine lunch with some free time – generally an hour or two. We try to spend it in an area full of local flavor, where group members can leisurely shop, practice the local language, or spend time in smaller groups, before we all meet up again for our afternoon activities.

Each group member will probably have a different desire for lunch, so we usually find it easier for them to buy it individually. This also provides an element of flexibility to each day. Your guide will always be there to recommend local cafés, restaurants, and bakeries. We suggest budgeting £5 – £10 per day for lunches, snacks, and drinks.

If it is your preference, of course we can arrange for a group to lunch together and include it in your costing. Equally, for discerning groups or those on our Connoisseur programmes, upgraded options or unique dining options can be arranged at specialty restaurants in the destinations that are being visited on your tour.
