Nature and Wildlife Tours
Through our unique range of service-learning tours, we can link scientific study with the practical experience of community service and cultural immersion in a foreign country or at home.
Our nature and wildlife tours, as well as our service-learning tours aim to develop a lifelong interest in science, nature and the environment. We hope they will also promote understanding of local environmental issues, as well as a deeper awareness of how communities interrelate around the world.
Science and the Environment
Biology or earth sciences programmes can include study of the rainforests, volcanoes, migrations, rural land use, and much more. Our destinations feature biodiversity, ecology, and conservation, and introduce participants to a wealth of species and ecosystems.
Nature and Wildlife
Are you looking for environmental volunteer work, or to get involved in sustainable projects that help repair our fragile planet? Blend travel and immersion in nature and observations of the planet’s wildlife with practical work on environmental projects and endangered species conservation.
Go on Safari for the Adventure of a Lifetime
One of the greatest travel experiences a group can have is to go on a safari and view African wildlife in its natural setting. Casterbridge Connoisseur offers magnificent safari tours for groups in both Kenya and South Africa, two of the world’s best places to view animals in their natural habitat.
On our safaris, your group will travel in style and will always be safe, because our experienced local guides know the areas and animals well. Your group will eat, sleep, and bathe under the open skies of Africa, surrounded by the sounds of Africa, yet safe behind the protection of our local guides.
EcoTours: Explore and Be Inspired
The environment has become a major concern of many people over the recent years. Our awareness of global warming, overfishing, the destruction of the rainforests, and many other ecological concerns have dominated the news.
Similarly, many human communities are in crisis, or in need of serious help. Poverty, lack of sanitation or education, poor-quality housing, inadequate infrastructure, war, and disease have caused tremendous problems for many of the world’s communities.
We at Casterbridge believe that educating young people and adults in the effects of environmental degradation and the human impact, and showing them practical ways in which the world is trying to reverse those effects, is a valuable travel experience.
Of the three levels of our Planet Earth programs, our EcoTours provide an introductory experience to service learning and volunteerism. In tours of 8-14 days, every EcoTour offers 1, or occasionally 2 days of service, with the rest of your tour comprising visits to communities and sites that fully capture the culture and natural wonder of the country or region you have chosen to visit.
EcoTours are inspirational journeys of exploration with an emphasis on nature, ecology, and wildlife, where your programme will contain one or two charitable visits or service experiences.
For Older Participants
Usually, older travellers have a wealth of practical skills they can offer to other communities, whether they are medical skills, scientific skills, engineering skills, teaching skills, computer skills, or any of a host of practical accomplishments they can share with willing sharers. And it is also older participants who can most effectively take back the lessons they have learned from their EcoTour experience to be implemented back home.
Casterbridge Connoisseur will custom design a group tour for you with just 10 participants. Contact us about your next programme & to custom design your group tour.
