Worldwide Adventures & Challenges

An Adventure Tour for a school group offers the exposure to new and stimulating situations and provides a valuable out-of-classroom learning experience. On this website are a range of suitable itineraries which we are confident will give your students a challenging and rewarding experience. If you have a particular destination in mind which is not featured here we will be happy to provide you with a suitable itinerary. Just call us on 0800 093 0810 and we will be pleased to recommend itineraries that are particularly suited to your group’s interests, aspirations, abilities and the time duration available

A Wide Range of Outdoor Activities

We operate a wide range of adventure tours which include activities from Hiking or Jungle Travel to Mountain Biking or even Whitewater Rafting. The aim is to take the students out of their ‘comfort zone’ and make them face challenges which they may previously not have encountered, to test their resources and ingenuity. This can be a fully supported programme with guides and support staff, or it can be adapted so that the students actually take responsibility for the planning and operation of their own expedition, for example as part of the DofE Gold Award.

Local Community Projects & Volunteer Work

Many schools wish to give something back to the communities through which they travel. This may take the form of a project with a sister school or charity which your school is already involved with. In such cases, we can structure the itinerary for any tour around the project visit. Alternatively, we can suggest and arrange a project in the destination country which fits with your specifications. There are many possibilities, and in the developing world, simply visiting a local school and providing it with some basic supplies – where your students meet local children – can be incredibly rewarding. A project visit such as this does not necessarily have to involve a significant financial cost, but it can be the highlight of your tour.

Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

An Overseas Adventure Tour can be used as the basis for the qualifying ‘Expedition’ component of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Part of the requirement for this is that your students are actively involved in the planning, preparation and operation of the expedition. To achieve this, we will work with you and your school to ensure that these objectives are met in a way which will give the students as much latitude as possible, but at the same time maintaining overall supervision and monitoring to ensure the expedition is conducted safely.

Whatever your focus, Casterbridge can provide outdoor and adventure tours to meet your specific needs.
