We at Casterbridge believe that travel is one of the best and most rewarding forms of education possible and that an educational tour based on your exact goals is one of the best ways to enhance the overall education of your students.
As experienced group leaders know, there are many potential obstacles to learning on an educational tour, so our tours are specifically designed to eliminate those factors.

Potential barriers to learning may include:
- Your students are too tired and are not given time to absorb information.
- Admissions to important sites on your tour are not included or are offered as optional extras, which could exclude students without the necessary funds.
- You are overwhelmed by too much information imparted at any one time, and so basic concepts and explanations that would enhance understanding are overlooked. A Gothic cathedral means nothing to a student if ‘Gothic’ is an undefined concept.
- Information and visits are presented with no reference to a unifying theme or to chronological order.

- Sensitive, thought-provoking, and interesting tour guides – On our walking tours, our guides focus on the historical and cultural aspects of most interest to your particular educational tour group and present the information at your group’s level of understanding. Your guide will also present basic thematic introductions to subjects relevant to the country you are visiting, such as the art and architecture; literature and language; and customs and culture. On specialist study educational tours, we include a provision for local, expert guides to afford an even higher degree of specialist knowledge.
- Thematic and chronological days – Logical and ordered learning can be accomplished by thematic and chronological itinerary planning. We aim, whenever possible, to provide thematic and chronologically arranged content on each day of your educational tour. Days dedicated to specific subjects encourage learning that can be both fascinating and fun.
